Information For Authors

Interested in submitting to this journal? We recommend that you review the About the Journal page for the journal's section policies, as well as the Author Guidelines. Authors need to register with the journal prior to submitting or, if already registered, can simply log in and begin the five-step process.

The "Writing Rules" section of AIPA's International Journal on AI: Bridging Technology, Society and Policy provides comprehensive guidelines for authors preparing manuscripts for submission. Adherence to these guidelines ensures consistency, facilitates the review process, and upholds the journal's high standards.

General Formatting

Authors are required to prepare their manuscripts using the provided LaTeX class file aipaj.cls. The paper size must be A4 with 1-inch margins on all sides. The main text should be set in a standard font such as Times New Roman or a similar serif font, with a 12-point font size. Single spacing should be used throughout the document to maintain clarity and readability. Consistency in formatting ensures that all submissions are professionally presented and easy to review.

Title and Author Information

The title of the manuscript should be concise, descriptive, and center-aligned, using bold formatting. Below the title, list the full names of all authors along with their affiliations and email addresses, also center-aligned. Including accurate author information ensures proper attribution and correspondence. The date of submission should be included below the author information to provide context for the review timeline.

Abstract and Keywords

Every manuscript must include an abstract that provides a brief summary of the research. The abstract should not exceed 250 words and should succinctly convey the main objectives, methods, results, and conclusions of the study. Following the abstract, list up to five keywords that accurately reflect the content of the manuscript. The abstract and keywords help readers quickly understand the scope and significance of the research.

Section Headings

Organize the manuscript into clearly defined sections using a hierarchical structure. Main sections should include, but are not limited to, Introduction, Related Work, Methodology, Results, Discussion, and Conclusion. Main section headings should be bold and use a larger font size for distinction. Numbered headings should be used for subsections, formatted in bold with the same font size as the main text. Sub-subsections should be italicized, using the same font size as the main text, to indicate further subdivisions. Proper sectioning facilitates logical flow and easy navigation through the manuscript.

Figures and Tables

Figures and tables should be included where relevant to illustrate and support the content of the manuscript. Figures must be clear, high-quality, and center-aligned, with descriptive captions provided below each figure. Tables should be well-formatted, with clear headings, and center-aligned, with descriptive captions provided above each table. Properly labeled figures and tables enhance the reader's understanding of the research and its findings.

Mathematical Content

For manuscripts containing mathematical content, use the amsmath package to format equations. Number all equations sequentially and center-align them, placing equation numbers in parentheses on the right margin. Accurate and consistent presentation of mathematical content ensures clarity and precision in the communication of complex information.

References

Proper citation of sources is critical to maintaining academic integrity. Use the natbib package for citations, following the author-year citation style. In-text citations should be formatted as follows:

  • For a single author: (Smith, 2023)
  • For two authors: (Smith and Jones, 2023)
  • For three or more authors: (Smith et al., 2023)

At the end of the manuscript, include a bibliography section formatted using the plain bibliography style. Ensure that all references cited in the text are listed in the bibliography, and that all entries are formatted consistently. A sample reference in BibTeX format is provided below:

@article{sample2024,
author = {Doe, John},
title = {Sample Article for AIPA's International Journal on AI},
journal = {AIPA's International Journal on AI},
year = {2024},
volume = {1},
number = {1},
pages = {1--10},
}

Submission

Manuscripts should be submitted as LaTeX source files (.tex) along with a compiled PDF version. Include the bibliography file (.bib) and any figures or supplementary materials. This ensures that the submission is complete and can be easily reviewed and processed. Authors must ensure that their submissions adhere to the journal's Plagiarism Policy, which includes proper attribution of all sources and disclosure of any use of AI tools in manuscript preparation.

Ethical Considerations

Authors are responsible for the integrity and originality of their work. Any use of AI tools in the creation of the manuscript must be disclosed, and AI-generated content must be clearly identified and properly cited. This transparency ensures the credibility of the research and the journal.

By following these writing rules, authors can ensure their manuscripts meet the standards of AIPA's International Journal on AI, facilitating a smooth review and publication process. Consistent and clear formatting, proper citation, and ethical considerations all contribute to the quality and integrity of the research published in the journal.
